How We Make Pumayana Tapestries

At Pumayana we care deeply about our impact on the planet and as such we have put a lot of care and research into the development of products that are ethical and sustainable and where possible natural.

In line with our policy of giving back and nurturing earth, mankind and spirit we decided to focus on recycling, natural materials and cleaning the ocean through our product production.

Our tapestries are made from recycled polyester fabric that is made up of plastic bottles and plastic waste gathered mainly from the Atlantic Ocean.

By purchasing tapestries from Pumayana you are helping to clean the ocean and reduce plastic waste.

Our tapestry fabric is made with Repreve, by UNIFI. Repreve fabrics are made at one of the most advanced recycling facilities in the USA. They source plastic bottles from the Atlantic Ocean which are then cleaned, sanitized, and turned into small pellets called 'flake'. The flake is then blended, melted, and extruded into high-performance fibers that are 100% recycled, non-toxic, and completely harmless to humans. Repreve also comes with the U|TRUST program that certifies all claims about the recycled contents of the fabric.

NOT MASS PRODUCED
All Pumayana products are made to order. This means we never have to waste.

HAND MADE
All Pumayana products are hand crafted by our artisans. Different products are produced by different artisans in different countries. Check product pages for details.

ECO FRIENDLY INKS
We use the finest eco-friendly inks available to make our products. They are water based, contain no harmful chemicals, contaminants, or toxins, and will keep their colour for years after purchase.

Shipping & Returns Tapestries
At Pumayana we do not mass produce. All our products are handcrafted and made to order.

Our tapestries take on average 5-7 days to produce.

Pumayana tapestries are individually printed, cut to size, hand sewn, and shipped from USA.

Shipping Times
If you live in USA your order should arrive within 3-5 days after fulfillment.

If you live in Canada or Mexico please allow 5-10 days after fulfillment.

If you live outside of these regions your order typically will take 7-14 days after fulfillment.

Please be patient with your delivery, we are not in control of international shipping issues.

Pumayana produces products in USA, Europe and Asia. Please note that if you have ordered multiple products it may be that your order will ship from 2 different places.

Taxes and Duties
There should not be any duties or taxes liable when you take receipt of the delivery of your tapestry in your country.

However, if for some reason you are required to pay an import duty please email Pumayana at ask@pumayana.com with proof of payment of your duty and we will offer you a Pumayana Gift Card/Coupon to the same value.

Returns
As our products are made to order we cannot offer refunds for change of mind purchases. If, however, your tapestry is damaged in any way we will of course offer a replacement or refund.

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION IN THE SIZING TAB
In exceptional circumstances we may offer a credit note for return, but in this instance please be mindful that the tapestry would need to be returned at your cost to our USA office, unsoiled and in perfect condition.
